"Lost Centuries," by Rabih Abou-Khalil

The first time I heard the music of Abou-Khalil, I laughed out loud: it sounded pretty silly to me. The next time I heard him, I just started listening. And I haven't stopped. His music is by turns intense, evocative, delightful. He is an oud player (a fretless guitar-type thing); his music is essentially a Middle Eastern version of jazz (with Middle Eastern melodies an instruments). Just listen.
